About electrolysis

Electrolysis has been practiced for more than 100 years and remains the only F.D.A. approved method of PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL. 

During treatment, an electrologist will insert a thin probe into each follicle, delivering a small amount of electricity which will destroy the hair at the root, preventing future hair growth. Electrolysis treatments can remove unwanted hair from your back, underarms, ears, lips, chins, breasts, bikini and more.

Electrolysis is safe and more effective than other hair removal methods. Three treatment methods are commonly used today: galvanic, thermolysis and blend. During your consultation, we'll determine the method that's right for you.

Is electrolysis for you?

Electrolysis is approved for men and women of all ages, skin tones and body types. It is proven effective on light and dark hairs, as well as hair types including curly, wavy or coarse.

Electrolysis can be done on those with certain medical conditions that have resulted in abnormal hair growth, such as hormonal imbalance and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). It is also safe to use throughout pregnancy or while being treated for most other medical conditions.

Meet Jaime

A licensed electrologist, Jaime practiced in New York before founding Green Electrology in Jersey City. She completed her training at the Berkowits School of Electrolysis in New York, where she graduated at the top of her class. Jaime delights in creating positive experiences for her clients, seeking results that empower you as an individual.

With Midwestern roots and deep sense of adventure, Jaime's thrilled to be 'home' in the NYC area after personal and professional journeys through the U.S., Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece and England. Before dedicating her full attention to electrology, she worked in nonprofits for more than 10 years, supporting the arts, education and social services.

In her free time, she loves researching her heritage (ask her about the Salem witch trials!), serving her community through local businesses and programs, and exploring Jersey City with her partner, Jeff, and their uber-lovable rescue pups.

Green Initiatives

Green Electrology believes in giving back. A portion of all proceeds are given back to our community through local nonprofits.

Our focus includes the environment, youth development programs, senior care, social services and animal shelters.
